Improving highway safety - Gov. Tom Corbett has signed into law House Bill 9, which limits the number of passengers under age 18 who can ride in a vehicle driven by a junior driver (under age 18), creates primary enforcement of the seat belt law for drivers and passengers under age 18 and increases the number of hours of practical driving experience required before a minor who holds a learner’s permit can apply for a junior driver’s license.

Improving our public education system
- On Thursday, Nov. 3, I will join fellow members of the House Education Committee for a public hearing to discuss teacher evaluations. This is an important topic, as we need to do all we can to ensure our children receiving a quality education.

You can watch this hearing on my website, www.RepEmrick.com, beginning that day at 11 a.m.

Disposing of prescription or over-the-counter drugs
- Do you have unused or expired prescription drugs or over-the-counter medications you need to dispose of? Click here for details on an event this Saturday, Oct. 29, that should be of interest to you.
