Emrick Hosting Senior Fair
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Joe Emrick (R-Northampton) is inviting senior citizens, their families and caregivers to his Senior Fair, which will be held Friday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Forks Township Community Center, 500 Zucksville Road, Forks Township.

“More than 60 senior-oriented vendors will be on hand to answer questions and display their services,” Emrick said. “We are also fortunate to be able to schedule the mobile Vet Center, thanks to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.”

Some of the services provided through the mobile center include: 

        • Individual and group counseling. 
        • Marital and family counseling. 
        • Bereavement counseling. 
        • Medical referrals. 
        • Assistance in applying for VA benefits. 
        • Employment counseling, guidance and referrals. 
        • Alcohol and drug assessments. 
        • Information and referrals to community resources.

The mobile Vet Center features the following: 

        • A 38-foot mobile counseling center. 
        • Two private offices. 
        • Satellite communication and Internet service with the VA Medical Centers. 
        • Video conferencing and tele-health capabilities. 
        • Three flat-screen televisions for training and educational videos. 
        • Wheelchair lift and accessibility. 
        • Full-time veteran driver and veteran counselor.

Admission to the Senior Fair is free. Light refreshments will be served, health screenings will be available and flu shots will be administered free of charge by the Lehigh Valley Health Network.
