Emrick Announces Water Infrastructure Funding for Lehigh Valley Residents
4/18/2019
NAZARETH - Easton Suburban Water Authority’s (ESWA’s) effort to improve service to its more than 30,000 customers will be aided by new funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST), according to state Rep. Joe Emrick (R-Nazareth).

PENNVEST is an independent authority that provides loans and grants for water, sewer and storm waste projects across Pennsylvania. It was created by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority Act of 1988 and is funded by a number of government programs.

ESWA has been awarded a more than $7.6 million loan to construct a new pumping station and install more than 17,000 feet of new main. The project, which also includes nine new fire hydrants, should improve efficiency and water pressure for customers.

ESWA’s service area includes the Bethlehem, Forks, Lower Nazareth, Palmer and Williams townships; the boroughs of Wilson, West Easton and Glendon and the City of Easton.

Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Emrick’s district office at 610- 588-8011 or 610-746-5090.
