Emrick Announces Grants for 137th District Fire, EMS Companies

NAZARETH – State Rep. Joe Emrick (R-137) announced today that eight fire and emergency medical services (EMS) companies in the 137th Legislative District were collectively awarded nearly $136,000 in funding support through the 2025-26 Pennsylvania Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program.

“I deeply appreciate the steadfast commitment and tireless efforts of our first responders. Their work is essential to protecting families and communities throughout the 137th District,” said Emrick. “This funding ensures these courageous men and women can continue their life-saving mission.”

Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, recruitment and retention, public education about fire safety, or reduction of existing debt. The funding amounts are contingent on the recipients filing their grant agreements with the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

The local grants are as follows:
• Hecktown Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 – $16,136.55.
• Nancy Run Fire Company of Butztown – $14,899.86.
• Nazareth Ambulance Corps. Inc. – $15,000.
• Palmer Municipal Fire Department – $16,136.55.
• Suburban EMS Inc. – $30,000.
• Tatamy Fire Company – $12,426.48.
• Upper Nazareth Fire Department – $14,899.86.
• Vigilance Hose Company No. 1 – $16,136.55.
