NAZARETH – The Borough of Bangor is the recipient of a nearly $2 million Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) grant to address flooding on Messinger Street, according to state Rep. Joe Emrick (R-Nazareth). The money will be used to replace the existing slate box culvert with a storm sewer.
“The effort to secure this grant began a number of years ago and is great news for property owners who endured flood damage in the Messinger Street area,” said Emrick. “Borough officials were very pleased when I called them to announce the award.”
PENNVEST was founded in 1988 to fund sewer, storm water and drinking water projects in the Commonwealth. They offer grants to municipalities and loans to individuals and Brownfield redevelopment efforts.
Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Emrick’s district office at (610) 746-5090 or (570) 897-0401.
